Senior FP&A Controller

What are you going to do

For our client, a leading animal breeding, genetics and technology company, we are looking for a Senior FP&A Controller. As a Senior FP&A Controller in this organization, your goal is to enhance financial planning and analysis to provide improved insights to business results and forecasting expectations. This encompasses scenario planning, budgeting, rolling forecasts, target setting, and benchmarking. The position involves developing financial models and project management to implement financial tools in collaboration with the Corporate Finance Staff and the Business Unit Finance Directors.

The newly appointed Senior FP&A Controller will play a key role in improving the FP&A function within the organization. Consequently, you make an important contribution to the further professionalization and growth of the organization.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Generate insights through comprehensive financial analysis, presenting analytical queries to Business Units and Holding organizations
  • Develop models to enhance the planning and analysis of financial and business results
  • Support and enhance budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Analyze and provide commentary on variances between actual results and forecast/budget
  • Optimize monthly reporting procedures, including presentations to Executive and Supervisory Boards
  • Assist in meeting new reporting requirements of our private equity shareholders and create a monthly reporting set
  • Lead projects to establish an improved planning process with rolling forecasting and a higher level of calendar year budgeting/forecasting, and implement/maintain a planning tool globally
  • Support and challenge Business Unit Finance Directors in creating and reviewing Capex/Business Cases and presenting them to Executive and Supervisory Boards
  • Handle ad-hoc requests as necessary to drive organizational performance
  • Contribute to M&A and financing projects
  • Assist and lead special projects
  • Act as a sparring partner and replacement for the Manager FP&A
Your profile
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • 5 – 8+ years of experience with Financial Modelling and Business Analysis in an international business environment
  • Experience in working in a complex international matrix organization, with experience in a PE environment being a plus
  • Excellent skills in building complex models with software tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
  • Analytical mindset, savvy with numbers and the ability to report analyzes crisp and clear, supported by figures and commentaries
  • Familiar with ERP systems and interfaces
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Dutch, French is an advantage
  • Problem-solving capabilities, a fine eye for detail and a hands-on and can-do mentality
  • Great interpersonal skills to enable good interaction with the Business Units and the Corporate Finance Team
