What are you going to do
Student Experience is a successful scale- up organization based in Amsterdam, specialized in student housing in the Netherlands. They have also been expanding in Spain over the past year, the second location was successfully opened on the 1st of July and they are currently working on more interesting project. As a Senior Accountant at Student Experience you will work in a small and informal Finance team, consisting of the Head of Finance, a Financial Controller, a Senior Accountant and two Financial Accountants in Spain. In this position you are responsible for the entire financial administration of all Dutch entities and you support various administrative activities of the Spanish entities. You will also contribute to the monthly, quarterly and annual reports and the preparation of the annual accounts.

Student Experience has grown in recent years towards the scale -up phase and they are currently focused on further professionalizing the organization. Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Managing the entire financial and business administration of all Dutch entities, operational, holding and project entities
  • Performing and reviewing account reconciliation, including bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts and other general ledger accounts
  • Preparing payment proposals and ensuring approvals for these proposals
  • Handling rental-related questions from the tenant portal
  • Preparing and approving necessary journal entries, including accruals, deferrals and other adjustments
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as supporting budget and cash flow forecasting
  • Analyzing variances between actual and budgeted results, investigating discrepancies and providing explanations or corrective actions
  • Working closely with the Head of Finance, Financial Controller and all internal departments
  • Submitting quarterly tax returns
  • Other ad hoc queries from the organization
Your profile
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Approximately 3 – 10 years of relevant work experience, with extensive experience in administration and preparing various tax returns in Dutch
  • You take good care of your responsibilities and enjoy working in a team
  • You are collaborative, a social person and value good connections with your colleagues
  • Good knowledge of various systems, such as Exact
  • Good command of the English and Dutch language

  • A competitive salary of €60.000 - €80.000, depending on your education and previous work experience
  • 25 vacation days and a fully paid pension by Student Experience
