Head of Financial Reporting & Control

What are you going to do
For our client, a leading specialist in distribution, in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, we are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting & Control. The Head of Financial Reporting & Control will manage a team of two Controllers and one Analyst and you will liaise on a regular basis with the BCE Finance Director. You are the main point of contact for regional FD’s when it comes to reporting questions. Your key objectives will be to ensure that financial reporting of all subsidiaries is technically correct and produced in an accurate and timely fashion in line with the organization requirements and corporate governance. In addition, you will undertake regular ad hoc projects relating to existing subsidiaries and new acquisitions.  

You will be part of a head office in Amsterdam-Zuidoost which oversees all the operating businesses within Continental Europe (more than €2.3bn in annual revenue in 15 countries). 
Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Oversee and participate in the production and review of the organizations monthly management accounts and forecasts for a timely submission to the Head Office in London in line with the relevant reporting requirements
  • Monitoring of key trends including sales, margin, operating costs, working capital and cash flow by business compared to prior year and budget and dealing with questions from the Finance Director or Head Office relating to performance
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation and review of consolidated Budget and Strategic Plan financial data and in analyzing and challenging the submissions from the subsidiaries
  • Visit business on a regular base to review reporting processes and compliance with the organization policy
  • Integration of new acquisitions into the reporting environment
  • Carry out ad hoc projects (e.g. prepare presentations for senior management, margin analysis, cost benchmarking, etc.)
Your profile
  • Minimum a relevant master’s degree (RA/RC is a plus)
  • You have strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of HFM would be an advantage
  • Very good written and spoken English and preferably Dutch
  • Confidence to deal with senior employees in the businesses as well as tact and diplomacy
  • Prepared to travel around Continental Europe as required
  • Preferably fulltime available
