Senior Financial Accountant

What are you going to do

For our client, a full scope corporate service provider, we are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant. In this broad position you will be responsible for the maintenance of the financial administration of their varied client portfolio. You will be the first point of contact for the client and responsible for the preparation of various financial reports, including the annual accounts of clients, as well as reviewing the work of junior colleagues.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Help guide and review the work of junior colleagues
  • Accurately acquiring, analyzing, processing and recording client transactions in various accounting software and systems (mostly Exact Online and Twinfield)
  • Executing necessary day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, such as data entry, reconciling General Ledger accounts and preparing accounting reports
  • Reconcile, prepare and file client VAT returns (quarterly and monthly)
  • Checking balances for all cost and revenue accounts, noting any discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Drafting month-end closures and compiling the corresponding reports as needed
  • Communicating with clients and providing ad-hoc support/advice on accounting and VAT requirements in the Netherlands
  • Preparing annual Financial Statements and filing the accounts with the Chamber of Commerce
Your profile
  • A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
  • At least three years or relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of general accounting standards and guidelines
  • Fluent in English and preferably Dutch, both orally and in writing
  • Excellent understanding of computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, especially Excel, as well as the ability to quickly master accounting & Payroll programs such as Exact, Twinfield and Nmbrs
  • Eagerness to learn and help international companies develop their business in the Netherlands
  • Ability to work as a team player, strong communication skills and a problem solving mentality
